Come fall, area students may want to brown bag it, as lunch prices at the cafeteria will be going up.

New York Rangers

"This year, we charge $2.50 per lunch and next year we will charge $2.75," said George LaCroiz, food service director for the Nashoba School District, which serves students from Lancaster, Bolton and Stow. "We need to pay our bills and food has skyrocketed over the last six months."

LaCroix said the sluggish economy, with its rising fuel prices, seems to be the main factor in the increase in food. Companies have been slapping fuel surcharges on food, which is often delivered over long distances. He said the district's dedication to providing healthy food ensured paying a premium.

"We have a wellness plan," he said. "A few years ago, we decided to address the issue of childhood obesity. Whenever possible, we get fresh foods and we avoid fat items, like soda and candy, all those type of things. Fresh is always more costly."

LaCroix said he hopes lunches will not get more expensive than projected, but that the reality is higher food prices are here to stay.

"Everyone is in the same boat," he said. "This isn't like when you get a freeze and it hurts a crop like lettuce. That sort of thing is temporary. This seems to be a permanent thing. It's one of those things that takes you by surprise and you need to deal with it. We know families are up against it also and we don't want to pass everything on to them. However, we are not part of the school district budget. We have our own budget. We're just going to take it day to day and keep our fingers crossed."

"We just voted last week to raise lunch prices," said Joseph Connelly, superintendent for the Tahanto Regional School System. Connelly said the district, which serves students from Berlin and Boylston, will raise lunch prices at its two elementary schools from $2 to $2.25. He said it will raise lunch prices at the Tahanto Regional Middle/High School from $2.25 to $2.50. He said the lunches would still provide only health choices for students.

David Vanasse, food service director for Clinton, said lunches will be going up in his district also.

"I'm doing a survey of other schools right now," he watches-m said. "Right now, I charge $2 for lunch at all three schools. That's a very healthy lunch, which includes meat, bread, a vegetable, a fruit and milk. It's very cheap right now and it's time for an increase. I'll be bringing my recommendations before the School Committee at the end of June."

Vanasse said it costs his budget between $1.60 and $2.25 to provide one lunch, which is putting him in the red at times.

"Fuel is going up and that is affecting food costs. Wheat and corn get delivered in trucks, so their prices are going up and then everything is going up in price," Vanasse said. "I've got to run it like a business here. We have to be self-sustaining because we're not part of the district budget. We have our LV Jewellery own payroll, health insurance and equipment."

Vanasse said the district would not compromise on the health of its students to save money.

"We put out a healthy meal,' he said. "We have cut out processed foods, we have just 2 percent and skim milk. We are avoiding salt and even doing homemade sauces. We put out a good, healthy lunch and that is bringing up the cost of the lunches. Nothing is

Gov. David A. Paterson sought Tuesday to settle the final pieces of the stalled budget by proposing a package that includes a limit on local property tax increases and a new state university tuition plan. But leaders of the State Legislature immediately rejected the new attempt.

"They're all up for re-election, and they could lose the majority this year," Paterson said of Democrats who narrowly control the State Senate.

He said passage of limits on property tax increases, for instance, "could have guaranteed that they stayed in the majority" in the fall elections.

Paterson's enticements were attached to a new package of higher taxes and fees.

The new bill would limit property tax increases to 4 percent a year or 120 percent of the inflation rate, whichever is lower. It would apply to school districts, except the Big Five, which includes Buffalo, and all localities, except New York City. Christian Louboutin boots

The new Paterson bill also incorporates a proposal to allow the four university campuses in the State University of New York system, including the University at Buffalo, to raise tuition by as much as 7 percent a year, while limiting other campuses to 4 percent annual increases.

The Assembly has finished work on the budget, but the Senate has not taken up the final piece -- the revenue bill. The Senate was to come back to Albany today, but that has been delayed.

Paterson said he is coming close to ordering the Legislature, or possibly just the Senate, to return in special session.

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan, said the Assembly has approved the budget and Paterson is "not constitutionally empowered" to unilaterally restart the process.

"We need a negotiated agreement to complete the budget, not another unnegotiated press release," said Austin Shafran, spokesman for the Senate Democrats.

Sen. William T. Stachowski, D-Lake View, has said he will not vote for the revenue bill until the SUNY issue is resolved. Others are pressing for the limit on property tax increases.

Paterson suggested disgruntled lawmakers -- upset over his recent vetoes of pork barrel and other spending -- were behind recent newspaper stories, which he did not specifically cite. But one concerned a recommendation that a subsidiary of a health care company employing his wife administer a federal insurance program, and another involved Christian louboutin pumps patronage hiring at the state Parole Board.

"The reason they keep raising my name is they're upset that I vetoed a lot of their programs, and they're playing little games, putting stories [out] on me now. And I get that, but I'm going to be undaunted in my desire to leave the next governor with a balanced budget," Paterson said.

AT this stage, it's time to move on from the fallout at Croke Park last Sunday, but I believe what happened will leave a lasting legacy for the GAA.

It won't be of much consolation to Louth but, behind the scenes, there are going to be a number of issues addressed as a result of what happened, such as crowd control, refereeing and umpiring standards and embracing technology.

Supporters will have to have a look at themselves, particularly those in Louth who made a show of themselves and their county.

Provincial councils will have to stand up and be counted in future as well when incidents like these crop up. Leadership was sadly lacking from Leinster this week Heel boots and that mustn't happen again.

Long-term, I think the game will be better for the way Louth took it on the chin and moved on. For that they should be commended.

In time to come we will look back on what happened last weekend as a pivotal moment in the GAA's development.

It's just a terrible shame for Louth that it was at their expense.

ARLINGTON, Va. -- A Congressional Budget Office report related to the future of biogenerics should be considered by Congress as "concrete evidence" that bringing such products to patients will result in significant River Plate health care savings for the federal government, according to Generic Pharmaceutical Association president and chief executive officer Kathleen Jaeger.

She notes that the CBO's Budget Options report states that establishing a pathway for the approval of biogenerics jewelry-q will result in potential multibillion-dollar savings. The document also states that the estimated savings would increase for the federal government as the period of market exclusivity for innovator products decreases.

"The CBO report estimates federal government savings and does not include the tremendous savings to consumers, employers and taxpayers," Jaeger adds. "Therefore, the report represents very conservative estimates of the potential savings that will result once generic competition is created."

Byline: ALLAN HUNTER

Les Enfants du Siecle

Director Diane Kurys. Certificate 15. Running time 108mins.

France Club

Cast Juliette Binoche, Beno"t Magimel, Stefano Dionisi

Les Enfants Du Siecle has everything going for it - the reputation of veteran director Diane (Coup De Foudre) Kurys, the star presence of Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche and the potential for dramatic fireworks suggested by the turbulent love affair between writer George Sand and poet Alfred De Musset. The end result is a very dull historical drama that seems to lavish more attention on the Christian Lacroix costumes than on trying to fathom the mercurial love-hate nature of the attraction between them.

Binoche cuts a commanding figure as the iconoclastic aristocrat gleefully outraging polite society with her fiery feminist writings and decision to adopt the attire and smoking habits of a man. Hellraiser, womaniser and bon viveur, Alfred de Musset (Benoit Magimel) would seem to have found a kindred spirit. Although she is married with a family and he is a number of years her junior, they embark on a grand affair that is relentlessly dramatised in the 19th-century drawing rooms of Paris.

All show and little substance, this looks an absolute treat but fails to get to the heart of the matter. Blissful, giddy passion is generally followed by indiscretion on De Musset's part, before a magnanimous Sand decides to forgive and forget. Monotonous and lacking insight, it leaves you none the wiser as to why Sand would forgive the trespasses of a wastrel distinctly lacking in jewelry-t charm or sensitivity. The only clues come in gloomy, unconvincing declarations like "we only love once with all our soul". Indeed.

Binoche seems constricted rather than liberated by Kurys' pedestrian approach to the subject matter. The same could be said for an episodic, unsatisfactory film.

REELY! If the film feels a little incomplete it could be because the original French version runs about half an hour longer.

Amores Perros (love's a bitch)

Director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Certificate 18. Running time 153mins.

Cast Emilio Echevarria, Gael Garcia Bernal, Goya Toledo

DAZZLING from the very first moment to the very last drop, Amores Perros (Love's a Bitch) marks an electrifying debut from Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, a filmmaker who combines the adrenaline-rush eagerness of a newcomer with the craft and emotional maturity of a seasoned veteran. The interlocking stories and larger-than-life approach have earned comparisons with Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction but Inarritu's wisdom and humanity give him the edge over Tarantino any day.

The epic canvas begins with a car crash in Mexico city and then zigs and zags across time relating three stories, increasing the depth of our understanding and ultimately putting the pieces of the puzzle together to reveal the big picture.

In the first frenetic story, Octavio (Gael Garcia Bernal) burns with desire for the wife of his hoodlum brother and has sought to finance their flight by entering his pet Rottweiler in the city's illegal dogfights. He is behind the wheel of one of the cars in the crash. In the second story, model Valeria (Goya Toledo) finds her world turned upside down when she is a tragic victim of the crash. In the third tale, dishevelled tramp El Chivo (Emilio Echevarria, below) rescues the

Jordan's inflation up 14.9 pct in first eight months

AMMAN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's consumer price index (CPI) in the first eight months of this year reached 138.41 points, up 14.9 percent over the same period last year, local daily The Jordan Times reported Wednesday.

Data of the Department of Statistics shows that Jordan's CPI in the first eight months in 2007 stood at 120.48 points.

According to the official data, the 8-month CPI increase this year resulted from the price rise of several main commodities and services, such as fuel, electricity, dairy products, eggs, meat, poultry, cereals and transport charges.

The Jordanian government has been working to control inflation, but the higher prices come mainly from external factors, including the high price of imported petroleum whose bill eats up some 20 percent of the kingdom's gross domestic product.

THIS is kidnapped penguin Kelli enjoying five-star treatment after Good Samaritan Sandra Grimes took the petrified bird in off the street.

Kelli was rescued from the streets of Dublin by Ms Grimes who ran her a nice cold bath and gave her every penguin's dream - a tin of tuna.

The terrified penguin LED spotlight was dumped on the streets of Dublin's north inner city after cruel pranksters birdnapped her from Dublin Zoo.

Animal lover Sandra said she could not believe it when she saw the penguin waddling outside her house in Rutland Street.

Kind-hearted Sandra said: "I found her on my doorstep and initially I thought someone had dropped a baby off and then I looked again and she was flapping her wings and I realised it was a penguin.

"It was flapping all over the place and it looked like it was distressed. So I took her inside and ran her a bath."

The terrified Humboldt penguin was subjected to a five-hour ordeal after ZKelli three men stuck her in a sack and fled in a taxi.

Sandra said Kelli was a little bit stressed when she found her but she took her in and the cool water soon calmed Kelli down.

She added: "I let the cold water run and she went straight for it and started lying under the water. I thought she might have been overheated or something but she seemed happy once I got her into the bath."

Kelli's break from the zoo got better though when Sandra fished out a tin of tuna for the hungry penguin.

Sandra said: "She ate half a tin of tuna while she was in the house. I thought that would be what they might eat and she seemed happy with it.

"I rang the guards about half-an-hour after I found her because I didn't know the number for the NSPCA. They came down from Store Street and took her away in a basket."

Sandra said she has not heard anything from Dublin Zoo since Kelli's dramatic rescue but she hopes the animal is safe and well.

Kelli was reunited with her mate Mick after her eventful day and has become a mini celebrity at the zoo.

Team leader at Dublin Zoo Eddie O'Brien said Kelli was doing fine and was back mixing with her penguin pals in her habitat.

He added: "It was great to get her back again. She's part of the family and she has a mate.

"She's doing really well, she seems happy again. I think she told them all what happened and they are happyclappy again."

Eddie said that staff are still scratching their heads over the bizarre theft but are glad things worked out well in the end.

He said: "We can't understand what the whole idea of this was.

If you believe at least some of the hype, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will eventually fill the skies. The advances in remotely piloted aircraft have come fast and furious, and the Dayton region wants a place in what's expected to be a huge industry.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates put UAVs in the news in 2008 during a speech at Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., when he slammed military leaders for being too slow to use UAVs in Iraq and Afghanistan. The situation changed quickly.

Cheap Jordan Shoes

Since then, the remotely piloted systems have gotten more public attention as cutting-edge military weapons that can perform high- risk duty without jeopardizing pilots' lives. UAVs were also called into duty to survey the damage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and lately they've been used to patrol the U.S.-Mexico border.

But there are many more uses, beyond the needs of military and government agencies.

The Federal Aviation Administration says 50 U.S. universities, companies and organizations are developing 155 UAV designs. Popular Science says more than 1,500 UAVs are being built around the world.

UAVs could be used for aerial photography and mapping, surveying land, monitoring crops, battling forest fires, even for watching weather and traffic.

The growth industry could be good for Dayton.

The Air Force Research Laboratory, which is headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, has developed some of the key technologies to making UAVs viable -- and AFRL is central to their future.

Of course, AFRL's job is to serve Air Force and military needs. But companies that want to use the technology in the private sector will be hanging around the base's gates.

There are challenges to widespread use of the technology. One is how to manage their presence in the country's air space.

The Federal Aviation Administration is responsible for air safety and for the complex system of setting the rules for where aircraft can fly. When any of us get on a plane, we count on the FAA's system to keep us safe; so do private pilots, helicopter users and even the military.

If thousands of UAVs are buzzing around, will the skies be too dangerous? It's one thing for a UAV to fly over a war zone in Afghanistan, it's a different matter for dozens to be over New York City. The FAA, a large, slow-to-change federal bureaucracy is being cautious.

In November, FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt told an aviation industry group: "As of today, unmanned aircraft systems are not ready for seamless or routine use yet in civilian airspace. Without a pilot who can look and scan to the left and the right -- just the way you and I do when we're backing out of a parking space -- there's a perceived level of risk that the American public isn't ready for."

Nike Shox Shoes

Experts seem to agree that the FAA is years away from figuring this out.

So where does the Dayton region fit in?

First, the ambition is to make the region a center for the UAV industry. That likely means that we'd need research, testing and production capabilities.

AFRL already provides the core research, and it seems that we could attract and grow companies to build the UAVs. (Co-Operative Engineering Services, based in Xenia, develops and builds UAVs of 100 pounds or smaller.)

Since May 2009, 2,000 course places have been available in Leicestershire and Rutland at more than 20 venues.

The Government said it wanted local councils and primary care trusts to try to pay for the courses.

But Mr Drozdz said that was unlikely to happen because of cash shortages in the public sector.

Master Sgt. Stephen Murphy was 36. The others who died, Sgt. Edmond Lo of Salem, Spec. Justin Pellerin of Boscawen and Marc Decoteau of Waterville Valley, were 21. Eric Currier of Londonderry, the most recent New Hampshire soldier killed in the wars, was only 19. His was the 41st death among New Hampshire residents in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

Nearly a century ago, poet, professor and congressional librarian Archibald MacLeish's brother Kenneth died when his plane was shot down over Belgium by a German fighter during World War I. On a 4-degree January morning, Buddy Doyle pulled off the road to wish a random soldier luck in Iraq.

"We argue to this day who initiated the long, lingering hug," said Doyle of Gardiner. "I told him, 'Take care of yourself. Don't do anything stupid.'"

A year and a half after that chance meeting near the National Guard armory in Gardiner, when the soldier had returned home, Doyle looked the guy up.

"I had told him I wanted to shake his hand," he said. "I still did."

He had another goal, too.

A photographer, writer and designer, Doyle had spent years creating glossy calenders of firefighters. Now he hatched a plan to take portraits of reservists guard members at their civilian jobs. He wanted the soldier's help.

Five years later, the soldier -- Sgt. Dan Flanders of Bangor -- has become a kind of son to Doyle and his wife. When his Gardiner- based National Guard unit has its monthly drills, Flanders stays in Doyle's spare room.

And when Doyle compiled his photographs into a book, "Faces of the Maine Guard & Reserve," he put Flanders on the cover.

"It had to be him," Doyle said of the cover photo. Flanders -- a firefighter -- is pictured in his uniform. He has a sober, impenetrable expression.

"He is my everyman," Doyle said.

In a way, so are the others. They include farmers, nurses, doctors, cops and carpenters; 48 in all.

Among them is Portland attorney Adam Cote, who ran for Congress, and Shawn Chabot, the assistant principal at Lewiston's Thomas J. McMahon Elementary School.

Doyle got the idea from German photographer August Sander, who made portraits in the first half of the 20th century. He managed to ed hardy wholesale find something authentic in the faces of regular folks in their workplaces.

"When I taught photography in California, I always included Sander," Doyle said. "The nobility of work and labor rang through."

When he started shooting people for his calenders, Doyle decided to follow the master's heightened realism.

By design, he approached each shoot cold. He never knew ahead of time the setting of a photo or what the person might wear.

The resulting photos drew so much praise, including compliments from Maine National Guard leaders, that Doyle decided to create the book.

It also exposes the work to a continuing audience.

"The shelf life of a calender is one year," Doyle said.

He hopes to get the book in front of as many people as possible. Using several donations -- including a grant from Oakhurst Dairy -- Doyle gave free copies to Maine legislators with the promise that they give them to local libraries. Doyle also hopes to get them onto as many waiting room tables as possible, hoping to leverage donations from private businesses.

He is selling copies online at his website, octoberpublications.com. Each costs $19.95.

"I want people to see this book, whether they buy it or not," said Doyle, who self-published the book.

He hopes to remind people of the sacrifices still being made by people in the war, he said.

Doyle said he is proud that the book has been embraced by the Ma

PLAID has chosen Llanelli to reissue its call to bring our troops home from Afghanistan.

Cheap Jordan Shoes

The party's parliamentary leader Elfyn Llwyd and its candidate for Llanelli, Myfanwy Davies, met with veterans, service families and local campaigners in the town's Selwyn Samuel centre last week to discuss the issue.

Calling themselves the only major party to oppose the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from the start, Plaid's ongoing campaign to bring the troops home from Afghanistan is one of the key policies of its election manifesto.

Equipment Plaid is also campaigning for members of the armed forces to receive proper supplies and equipment and for proper care and treatment for returning servicemen and women.

Mr Llwyd said: "As the only major party to have opposed the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from the start, we are proud that we stood by our principles back then, and we're proud of Plaid's ongoing campaign for a timetable to be set for the return of our men and women from Replica Michele Watches Afghanistan now."

On Plaid's support for veterans campaign, he added: "The Government has shamefully neglected our troops and veterans. They have been prepared to send them to illegal wars, but not properly equip or look after them. Forces personnel are not the authors of foreign policy pursued by the UK but they are the ones who are daily in harm's way. Last year's figures showed there were twice as many veterans in prison than British troops are in Afghanistan. This is no coincidence. More and more troops are returning from war zones. These people have witnessed scenes of unimaginable horror and it is bound to affect their well-being. We owe it to them to spend time and expertise in assisting them as they leave the service."

Dr Davies added: "Llanelli Tiffany Flower Ring and Gwendraeth have a long history with the armed forces. Many local families have sons and daughters out in Afghanistan."

Withdrawal "Plaid will continue to call for a phased troop withdrawal and for urgent action to care for soldiers and veterans."

Conservative candidate Chris Salmon, who was at the meeting, told the Star: "I do think there is an element of hypocrisy in seeing a party that doesn't always go to memorial services, wants us to cut the defence budget and doesn't support what the troops are doing there, trying to wrap themselves in the colours in the middle of an election. As a soldier, I find that a little bit distasteful and as a politician, I think it's a mistake."

COUNCILLORS will be asked to put pressure on the NHS to shelve plans to axe minor injuries services at a community hospital.

John Blackie will present a notice of motion at the next full meeting of Richmondshire District Council asking members to fight the proposals by North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust.

Louis Vuitton Bags

The trust announced last week its plans to close minor injuries services at the Friary Hospital, in Richmond, The Lambert, in Thirsk and St Monica's, Easingwold.

The changes, which will be debated by North Yorkshire County Council on Friday, would mean people suffering minor cuts, burns and dislocations being dealt with by their GP during the day and at hospital accident and emergency departments at other times.

Councillor Blackie's motion asks that Richmondshire District Council votes to show that it "considers the Friary Community Hospital, in Richmond, an excellent local healthcare provision and a first-class community resource with committed, dedicated and very capable nursing ghd iv styler and other staff".

It also asks that the council publicly calls on NHS North Yorkshire and York to make a firm commitment to maintain and improve current healthcare services at the Friary and introduce new services so residents in Richmondshire have healthcare delivered close to or within their local communities.

Another point of contention raised within the motion is the concern about the distances between Richmondshire and the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, which has the nearest accident and emergency department.

The motion states: "The proposal does not offer a local and convenient replacement service, but instead proposes to locate it 18miles away, in an already busy emergency department, with the potential for long waiting times.

Replica Technomarine Watch "Patients using the minor injuries service at the Friary from the Upper Dales may have already travelled 20 miles or more to reach Richmond."

The motion will be debated at the full district council meeting at Swale House, in Richmond, on July 20.

If I have a lucky number, it's 15.

My oldest was born on the 15th, as were his brother, two of his sisters, my wife and my dad. Another daughter was born on the 30th - double 15.

And while I've never had my 15 minutes of global fame, as Andy Warhol promised, Replica Balenciaga Handbags a very distant ancestor, James Buchanan, was the 15th president of the United States.

Not all 15s are lucky. Babe Ruth hit his first career home run in 1915, but it was also the year of Typhoid Mary, World War I and the locust plague in Palestine. And April 15 is the one day a year every taxpayer would just as soon forget, refund or not.

So why do we take lucky numbers and rabbit's feet and ladders and black cats to such extremes?

Why is it that athletes will wear the same pair of socks - unwashed - until good fortune begins or ends?

Or that Michael Jordan always wore blue University of North Carolina shorts - washed, we hope - under his red-and-black Chicago Bulls uniform?

Or that Napoleon was afraid of cats and the number 13?

Why did Harry Truman nail a horseshoe above his White House office door?

Or John McCain carry lucky coins and a feather on the campaign trail?

Or William McKinley wear a red carnation on his lapel?

In McKinley's case, the story goes, he gave the flower to a little girl moments before he was shot by an assassin.

Call it a coincidence, or dumb luck, Jimmy Choo Bags Replica but if the smartest, richest people in the world believe in this stuff, why shouldn't the rest of us? Or is superstition simply a form of obsessive- compulsive disorder, as some even smarter people claim?

I asked my buddy Bill Brenner about Burberry Handags Replica that. Years back, he was diagnosed with OCD and now writes a blog on the subject, "The OCD Diaries" ().

"With a superstition," he told me, "the compulsion is driven by the fear that something bad will happen if you fail to do the compulsive action or if you fail to avoid the proverbial broken mirror. If I break a mirror, I don't freak. Never did. I just go out and buy another one."

Which means, I think, that my lucky number is nothing of the sort. It won't win me the lottery or a $15 bet at Santa Anita.

It just makes it easier to remember all those birthdays.

AT the halfway stage of the season, the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League championship is wide open, with any one of five teams in a position to take the title.

Skegness retained their lead at the top after a third wicket stand of 246 between Roald Badenhorst and Carl Wilson set up a convincing win at Market Deeping.

Cheap christian audigier

The pair came together in the 13th over with the score on 75 for two. There followed 37 overs of fireworks as the Kiwi and the wicketkeeper blitzed the bowling, Badenhorst blasting five sixes and two off one over to bring up the 300 mark.

Badenhorst was finally caught and bowled by Richard Witt in the 50th over for 162.

Partner Wilson meanwhile had completed his century even quicker, at the rate of a run per ball, and finished unbeaten on 113.

Needing seven an over, the home side were peppered by Badenhorst at one end and Steve Kirkham at the other and quickly fell behind.

A stubborn innings of 60 from the ever-reliable David Gillett held the home side together. But the Deeping skipper lacked support and ran out of partners with the score on 160 as Bariwala picked up the last three wickets.

Fahad Masood took his wickets tally to 33 with another four for Bourne that helped them up to second place after Sleaford were bowled out for 154 at Abbey Lawn.

But it was Jack Eifon Jones who broke the partnership that looked like taking Sleaford to a competitive total. Jones bowled Dammika Gunawardena for 35 and when Mark Dixon had his partner Stuart Cope caught behind for 22, this was the end of any real resistance.

But Bourne didn't have it all their own way, Gunawardena dismissing both openers and Masood going for discount tiffany silver jewelry seven.

Peter Morgan steadied the innings with 25 but it was David Christmas who put Bourne on the road to success with an innings of 43. Christmas' wicket was Sleaford's last success as Robert Dunn and Lindley took their side to a three wicket win.

Bracebridge Heath moved up to third after a hard fought 20 point win at Lindum.

Josh Brodie got his side off to the best possible start, dismissing Brett Houston and Jason Scheepers in the first over before Andrew Crook and Paul Cook steadied the ship with a stand of 95.

When Cook became Karanjit Bansal's first victim on 42, Aaron Keverne Onyon (37) put on a further 42 with Crook who was out run out on 64 to make the score 162 for five. A fine unbeaten 74 off 68 balls from George Neal then helped Bracebridge to 267 for seven.

Lindum's reply set off in fine style, Brodie and Pierce Morley- Barnes putting on 151 for the first wicket. Morley-Barnes hit 67 before being caught behind off Onyon who took the next wicket on the same score and then dismissed Brodie for 68.

This left Lindum 158 for three but Alex Hornsby and Geoff Middleton got the runs flowing again with a stand of 38.

However, a devastating spell from Matt Bradley and Brett Houston saw Lindum collapse from 196 for three to 214 all out. Cricket online For more news from the Lincolnshire ECB Premier League visit sportgrimsby.co.uk/cricket

MOTOR auctioneers British Car Auctions is advising drivers on what to look for in cars to get the best value back when selling later.

All cars depreciate, but as the firm suggests, owners can maximise the value of the car.

Tim Naylor of BCA said: "No-one can avoid depreciation but you can put the brakes on it by following simple guidelines.

"Buy well now and you will reap the benefits when you come to sell your car."

Other key points are: maintain the car properly, preferably with the supplying dealer, as a full service history can add hundreds of pounds to a used car's value. It's also important for drivers toknow that modifying their vehicle could devalue it, as non-factory paint and body kits limit the buyers market and 'chipping' the engine could void the car warranty.

Peckham Finishing School for Girls

BBC 3, 9pm

Fake Paris Hilton

Like a return serve for Ladette to Lady, Peckham Finishing School for Schools reverses the process of plucking a young woman from a rundown council estate and transporting her, Pygmalion style, to live with the landed gentry. Just to teach her what's what, you understand.

This time, it's the turn of the cossetted young ladies from the Home Counties to leave behind their trust funds and gymkhanas in favour of high rises, urban deprivation and heavily tattooed young women who make Vicky Pollard look like Jemima Khan.

In the previous two episodes, the trio of posh totty have endured a culture shock similar to the one Katie Price had when she accidentally wandered into a library. Needless to say, the gilt- edged tears came thick and fast as they dreamed of returning home to their own (literal) manors. But these girls are clearly made of sterner stuff than we first gave them credit for and they celebrate with a night on the tiles - south-east London style.

Their girls' night out takes a tiffany heart ring different slant to the kind the girls are used to (there are no chic cocktail bars and Manolo Blahniks are not recommended) but it give them all a chance to blend with their hosts as the talk soon turns to men, relationships and sex. Suddenly, there are not as different as they may think.

On the final morning before returning to their privileged lives, they are each give a progress report. There may be lessons learned and preconceived notions shattered but there's still a sting in the tail for at least one of the girls.

Coming of age friendship dramas are second nature to Mike Bullen, writer of acclaimed hits such as Cold Feet and Life Begins. This one- off drama certainly looks good on paper, as it follows a group of six former housemates reunited after eight years of separation.

Given their relationship ended on bad terms their reunion could bring up former rivalries and ill feelings. The cast includes comedian Ed Byrne, Zoe Tapper and Jan Francis.

Footloose

E4, 9pm

Come on, what could be better than dancing farmers, an infectious soundtrack and a game of chicken with tractors?

Admittedly, the plot of this 1980s classic is complete drivel - a rebellious Kevin Bacon fights against a town where rock'*'roll and dancing are forbidden - but I defy anyone to resist a surreptitious foot tap to Kenny Loggins's theme song. It also boasts an outstanding cast, including John Lithgow and Chris Penn.

COMMUNITY THEATER

The cast of Little Theatre of Stoughton's production of "Annie Get Your Gun" includes people of all ages, shapes and sizes, and that is part of its great appeal. Everyone gets lots of face time onstage as part of the large musical numbers. It reflects the best aspect of community theater.

The fictionalized story of the real-life Annie Oakley, a back- woods girl who becomes a star of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show because of her prowess with a gun, debuted on Broadway in 1946, and has become synonymous with Ethel Merman, especially the Irving Berlin Thomas sabo charms tunes "You Can't Get A Man With A Gun" and "There's No Business Like Show Business." A big screen revival in 1950 starred Howard Keel and Betty Hutton.

Jamie Poskitt as Annie Oakley does all the heavy lifting in the large cast, and she does it well. The 2006 Bridgewater State College theater arts major exudes great charm from the moment she makes her entrance onstage until the end of the show, without upstaging the less-experienced members of the cast.

Playing her love interest, Frank Butler, is Fred Yaitanes of Stoughton and he has the cowboy strut down, delivering a low-key performance with a pleasant voice and understated demeanor. But the age difference between Poskitt and Yaitanes was disconcerting, especially during their love scenes.

In the role of Dolly Tate, Judith Wahl understands the importance of comic timing. She always made her presence felt when onstage, even during the big production numbers.

Tommy Bahama Watch There's a passel of cute kids in the show. Sam Bouchaiba, 7, as Annie's younger brother, Little Jake, is cute and precocious. Another standout was Madison Peck as Minnie, another of Annie's siblings. Peck displays great poise, and she delivers her too-few lines with ease.

tiffany heart link bracelet

In a humorous instance of making do with what you have, Annie Oakley's "kill" consisted mostly of stuffed animals. One of the biggest laughs occurred at the beginning of the second act, when Annie discharges her weapon, and a rubber chicken is tossed onstage.

Little Theatre came up with an inspired piece of design in its creation of a train. Made of painted plywood flats chained together and led by an engine with a real headlight, it chugged in from the back of the theater and made its way onstage. Once there, the actors played the scene as the audience watched through the train windows. At the end of the scene, the train chugged out through the audience again, complete with sound effects. Clever and well done.

LONG BEACH -- With a picnic basket and blanket in tow, 17-year- old Evelyn Hernandez hiked to Hilltop Park at 6 a.m. Sunday to claim a prime viewing spot for the Fourth of July fireworks.

Like many locals, Hernandez said the Signal Hill park is one the best places to see fireworks stretching from Huntington Beach to San Pedro.

Fake Bottega Veneta Handbags

"My favorite part is when the sun goes down and you see the city lights," said Hernandez, who came with her Long Beach church group. "That's all part of the fun."

From block parties to beachside cookouts, families came to the city in droves on Sunday to celebrate Independence Day. Bixby Park and Bluff Park proved to be two of the most popular spots, as hundreds gathered to grill burgers, pitch tents and play games like badminton and soccer.

Nancy Warmsley of Vernon had one of the best spots around. Navigating her 34-foot-long motor home "The Dolphin," she pulled into Long Beach at 8 a.m. and parked on Ocean Boulevard at Molino Avenue. By noon, she and her family had set up an awning, a poker table and a lunch spread of chips, baked beans and barbecue.

"This has been the best Fourth so far," she said. "Long Beach is it."

People were also enjoying the cooler temperatures this year. AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Edwards said temperatures on Sunday hit a high of 70 degrees, about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. Today is expected to be slightly warmer with temperatures hovering in the low 70s, he said.

Authorities were warning drivers to take extra caution on the roads this holiday weekend. From 6 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol reported two deaths and 211 DUI arrests.

Staying at home is always a popular option and many neighborhoods celebrated the day with block parties. At least 49 block parties had been registered with the city this week. To receive a city permit, 80 percent of residents on a block must sign a petition.

Jason VanFleet, a photographer who lives in the 3800 block of Gaviota Avenue near California Heights, said he had 100 percent approval from his neighbors.

The party on Gaviota featured a number of kid-friendly activities with a small parade, a colorful jumping castle and two inflatable pools.

"It's a great neighborhood," said VanFleet, a father of three.

VanFleet said more than 15 children live on the block and the neighbors regularly socialize. They've affectionately nicknamed the street "G Block."

"We even have our own Facebook page," he added.

Back in Bluff Park, Janet Sims and Danny Bach, both 65, had staked out a claim under a giant umbrella. The pair, who have been best friends since third grade, regularly celebrate the holiday together.

The two stayed inside last year because Bach was having chemotherapy treatment and couldn't go out in the sun. But this year, they were back in their favorite spot in the park.

"We're just happy to be here," Sims said. "We couldn't ask for anything better."
